SELECTION CRITERIA & FEEDBACK:

We expect our tryout numbers to be large this season. With that said, at NEE we pride ourselves on giving everyone a fair and unbiased chance to make our teams each season. We want to ensure that all our athletes have the proper amount of time to exhibit their abilities to our staff, which is why we conduct tryouts over a three week period.

It’s simple, the athletes who perform at the highest level during tryouts will be chosen to an appropriate team. Previous team selections will not be factored into decision making. We will have a beyond qualified set of evaluators at tryouts, and we expect that everyone will trust our process.

Our evaluators have spent countless years playing indoor/outdoor field hockey at very advanced levels and are specifically trained to seek out the best candidates for each team. If after tryouts, there are questions or confusion about an athlete’s specific team placement, I strongly encourage the athlete themselves, not the parents, to reach out directly to me if you’d like to further ask me a question about our decision.
